Sublimation T-Shirt

  • Design Creation: A design is created using graphic design software. This can include photographs, complex patterns, logos, or text.
  • Printing: The design is printed onto special sublimation transfer paper using sublimation ink. The ink is unique in that it turns into gas when heated.
  • Transfer: The printed transfer paper is placed on a blank polyester t-shirt. A heat press is then used to apply heat and pressure, typically at around 400°F (204°C).
  • Sublimation: Under the heat and pressure, the sublimation ink turns into gas and bonds with the polyester fibers of the t-shirt. This embeds the ink into the fabric, rather than just sitting on top of it.
  • Cooling: After the heat press cycle is complete, the t-shirt is removed and allowed to cool. The result is a permanent, vibrant, and durable design.

Description

Sublimation t-shirts are made using a specialized printing process known as sublimation printing. This method allows for vibrant, full-color designs that are embedded into the fabric, making them highly durable and resistant to fading or peeling. Here’s an overview of the process and benefits of sublimation t-shirts.

  • Durability: The design is part of the fabric, which means it won’t fade, crack, or peel over time.
  • Vibrant Colors: Sublimation allows for bright, bold colors that are difficult to achieve with other printing methods.
  • No Hand Feel: Since the ink becomes part of the fabric, there is no difference in texture where the design is printed.
